A local icon reimagined for a new generation
The City of Melville aimed to transform Bob Gordon Reserve into a standout destination for families and visitors. Alongside the creation of a one-of-a-kind playground, the park needed a functional, visually engaging public toilet facility to serve the space and its high volume of activity.

Our Solution
Modus Australia supplied a custom Capricorn 5 amenity building, designed in a back-to-back layout to enable smooth access from multiple sides of the park. This configuration is ideal for public spaces where flexibility, flow, and visibility are essential.
To complement the distinctive play area, the building features custom-designed graphic panels inspired by the iconic Leach Highway Spaceship. This real-life Futuro House became a local legend in the 1970s and 80s, and the artwork ties that piece of WA history into a playful, contemporary park setting.
The structure includes vandal-resistant cladding and low-maintenance materials to ensure durability and easy upkeep. Motion-sensor lighting increases safety while conserving energy, and all fixtures comply with accessibility standards to create an inclusive facility for the community.
