It caters for all in the new Iluma community at Bennett Springs, with grassed areas and unique landscaped playground providing space for the kids to play, while the convenient shelters and picnic areas allow parents to relax while keeping an eye on the fun.

What Mirvac needed

Mirvac were seeking a partner to design and construct a toilet building that could integrate seamlessly with the vibrant theme of the park, the centrepiece of the new Iluma Estate.

Dazzle Park was delivered by Mirvac with the City of Swan, with landscape architecture by Emerge Associates.

Designed to belong to the park

Modus worked closely with Mirvac to customise a Yarra 3 building to include colourful printed graphics and a custom laser-cut screen that matched in with the shelter design.

Rather than a utility set down beside the playground, the building was treated as part of the park's design:

Printed graphic panels carry Iluma's brand identity across the facade, in scattered colour forms on a Matte Cream composite

A laser-cut aluminium verandah screen at the entry, developed with Emerge Associates, repeats the pattern used on the park's shelters to give privacy while tying the building to the structures around it

Surfmist roof, doors, louvres and trims keep everything else quiet, so the colour carries the design

As Peta-Maree Ashford, principal landscape architect at Emerge Associates, put it: "the purposeful design of the parks and open space has created the perfect backdrop for people to slow down, enjoy their surrounds and connect as a community."

Built off site, installed fast

Partnering with Modus on the project meant Mirvac could compress their site build time and create an impressive outcome, with our prefabricated modular solution.

Panels arrive pre-clad inside and out with doors pre-hung in frames, so the building bolts together on a single pad rather than being assembled piece by piece on site.
