Figtree Park
Modus delivered a Changing Places and universal access amenity building for Hunters Hill Council at Figtree Park in Sydney's inner west. The building combines a fully equipped Changing Places facility with a separate universal access toilet, providing the first dedicated amenity for people with high support needs within the Hunters Hill local government area. The Changing Places room includes an adult-size height-adjustable change table, ceiling tracking hoist, accessible shower, and automatic sliding door operated by MLAK key. The building features aluminium composite cladding with Modwood vertical slats and a covered verandah, designed to sit naturally within the park's landscaped setting.
The project formed part of a broader playground extension at Figtree Park, delivered by Solutions Plus on behalf of Hunters Hill Council. With the council's timeline brought forward, Modus worked under a short lead time to get the building designed, manufactured and delivered. A design consultation early in the process meant the council's requirements were captured upfront, eliminating the usual back-and-forth and keeping the project moving at speed. The building was manufactured off-site and installed as part of the wider park upgrade, which also included new accessible play equipment. Figtree Park officially reopened in May 2026 with a community celebration.
