Figtree Park
A Changing Places and universal access amenity building delivered for Hunters Hill Council at Figtree Park in Sydney's inner west, providing the area's first dedicated facility for people with high support needs. The project was planned and delivered under a tight, fast-tracked timeline as an integral part of a broader playground extension at the park.
Delivering to a Compressed Timeline
When the council's deadlines were brought forward, they engaged Modus to design, manufacture and deliver a comprehensive solution under a compressed lead time. In response, Modus focused on an early design consultation to capture all the council's requirements upfront, eliminating the usual back-and-forth that can be a large cause of delays and preserving all-important project momentum.
The First Dedicated High-Support Toilet Facility for Hunters Hill
The design combines a fully equipped Changing Places facility with a separate universal access toilet. The Changing Places room includes an adult-size height-adjustable change table, ceiling tracking hoist, accessible shower and an automatic sliding door operated by MLAK key.
For the finish, Modus' engineers suggested aluminium composite cladding with Modwood vertical slats and a covered verandah, sitting naturally within the park's landscaped setting.
