Deepwater Park Pump Track
A custom, flood-resilient public toilet amenity for Canterbury-Bankstown Council's new Deepwater Park Pump Track in Milperra, NSW, engineered to withstand cyclical riverside flooding and heavy community use. Deepwater Park sits on the bank of the Georges River in an area subject to regular flooding, so when the council established a pump track for the area's growing community of BMX riders, skaters and scooters, they needed a durable, low-maintenance facility designed to cope with that flood risk.
Demanding In-Built Flood Resilience
They approached us at Modus because of our reputation as a specialist toilet building manufacturer. The council's project brief explicitly demanded a facility able to withstand wet season flooding and periodic inundation. It also needed to be durable enough to handle heavy weekend use.
Custom InCube-3 Engineered to Endure Inundation
Modus engineers suggested a custom InCube-3 SA toilet building with an integrated service area. This would include three cubicles (one universal access suite, one ambulant and one standard toilet) plus an internal service area for asset maintenance, all engineered specifically with the site's flood-prone Georges River location in mind.
The council began working with us early through a Design Consultation to specify materials, fixings and detailing for a flood resilient toilet building that would withstand inundation without compromising accessibility, amenity or longevity.
The InCube-3's prefabricated panel system, hot-dip galvanised structural steel, concealed cisterns, AS1428.1-compliant accessible fixtures and Class 3 fasteners deliver a low-maintenance, anti-vandal amenity that easily handles heavy weekend use as well as the wet season flooding common at this riverside reserve. The building was finished in Colorbond Surfmist roofing with Woodland Grey trims, Windspray doors and Spotted Gum Wood-look Aluminium vertical battens for a warm facade that visually matched the park's natural setting.
A Resilient Public Toilet Amenity
With installation conducted by head contractor Solutions Plus, the result is a flood-resilient public amenity building that preserves the council's investment and eliminates the need for expensive post-flood rebuilds, while serving the pump track's growing community of BMX riders, skaters and scooters.
