The City of Melville is a large local government area bordering on the Swan River, with a vibrant community, rich heritage and an abundance of beautiful WA public open spaces. This project includes a community park in Leeming, bustling local shops in Willagee and Point Walter Reserve which is a popular water recreation and family picnic spot.
Cessnock City Council is situated in the Traditional Custodian country of the Wonnarua Nation and the Darkinjung and Awabakal lands. Bridges Hill Park is located in Yango St, Cessnock with beautiful views to the Brokenback Ranges. This popular park is for the community and visitors to enjoy, featuring fun play areas for kids, colour coded concrete pathways, well-kept gardens, native revegetation, picnic spots and five toilets including a two universal access and baby changing facilities.
Swan Hill Rural City Council refurbished the Milloo Street boat ramp to a two-lane boat ramp, along with an upgraded car park, landscaping, table settings and public toilet facilities for locals and visitors to enjoy the Murray River and surrounding region.
The brand new Sydney Zoo houses 110 Australian and international animal species, exhibited in an immersive safari-like experience. The zoo presents a unique learning experience to be enjoyed by curious kids and tourists alike. It caters for all in the new Illuma community, with grassed areas and unique landscaped playground providing space for the kids to play, while the convenient shelters and picnic areas allow parents to relax while keeping an eye on the fun.
Tamworth Skate Park is an exciting new space for the youth of the city and the community located at the Viaduct Park in the heart of Tamworth. It could be even one of the best skate parks in Australia, with a $700,000 contribution from council and $1 million grant from the state government, the park is buzzing with energy and able to hold local and state competitions.
The Katanning 'All Ages Playground,' located south of Perth is a well-loved attraction for the local and wider community. With a 10 metre spiral slide and 35 metre raised walk, the adventurous one-of-a-kind playground brings back fond memories of childhood experiences where a bit of healthy risk was all part of the fun. Complete with multiple other play elements and and a skate park, the open space also includes two accessible toilet buildings, one housing an accredited Changing Place.
1000 Steps walking track is a 3 kilometre steep terrain trek in the Dandenong Ranges. The trail follows a creek through a wet fern gully lined with plaques to honour the soldiers who fought and died on the Kokoda Trail during World War II. At the top you can take the track to One Tree Hill picnic grounds, from where you can experience the beautiful view while using the picnic tables and barbeques. New Modus toilet facilities are conveniently located at both the 1000 Steps carpark and the One Tree Hill picnic grounds.
Started from a petition by four local kids, the Bibra Lake Skate Park is now an impressive multi-use open space catering for more than skaters; including a half basketball court, playground, barbecue amenities, shelters and a new custom toilet building. The toilet building provides convenience so park visitors can enjoy the place for an extended stay, and has enough capacity to handle events and competitions.
Located in the Mitchell Shire Victoria, Hadfield Park is an inclusive multipurpose open space with BMX tracks, walking trails, playground, splash park, BBQ’s, toilets and now; a Changing Places toilet building. The park is wheelchair accessible throughout, with an accessible seat on the flying fox, interactive tractor play, parking facilities and much more.
The Bridgewater Community Parkland was stage one of a larger Regional Foreshore Parkland development undertaken by the Brighton Council in Tasmania. The parkland boasts an exciting new play area and provides a number of different spaces for the local community to enjoy.
